The Xtra-Sense Mains Power Wiring Signalling system offers a means of sending alarm signals from a point, or points, in a building through the fixed mains-power wiring to another location within the building.
The system can be used to relay signals from both Xtra-Sense products as well as other security and monitoring equipment and interface into third party systems. |
Two sizes of system are available:
|
| MSL15 Zone System |
signaling range suited to small and medium size buildings |
| MSL99 Zone System |
signalling range suited to large buidlings and complexes |
System Operation
The key elements of the system are the Transponder (sender) and Receiver. Both units plug into a standard three-pin plug point, and are powered directly from the mains. |
Transponder
The Transponder unit receives an input signal, which triggers it to send a coded signal into the mains wiring. The input trigger signal can come from a variety of sources, such as a simple switch, the opening or closing of relay contacts, and a signal from a radio transmitter fob.
The coded signal transmitted into the mains wiring includes the identity code of the Transponder sending the signal. By knowing the location of the transponder, the location of the triggering signal can be determined. |
Receiver
The Receiver unit monitors the mains wiring for coded signals from any Transponders. When a signal is detected, the Receiver is triggered to decode the signal and indicate the identity of the Transponder that sent the signal.
Receiver units for both sizes of system provide a single relay output to interface into other systems. The MSL15 Zone Receiver also includes the option to link to a 15 relay expander panel. |
